DIY Kayak Fishing – Milk Crate Console on Water Review

In this video, I’m out on Lake Lanier kayak fishing for Striper and Bass. This is the first run of the milk crate center console and it preformed nicely. It fits firmly into place (no wobble) and provides a nice work station. I mounted my GoPro HERO 3+ and Lowrance Elite 4 HDI to the milk crate. I plan to velcro a small cutting board to the to of the console. This will be very useful in saltwater fishing, as the tuna tank keeps live bait and I have an easily accessible place to cut bait. I cut a port in the front of the console so that I can store gear boxes, dry bags and the battery for the Lowrance. Wind or waves can not knock anything inside the console off of the yak. Also, the milk crate console provides a bit of shade for heat/water sensitive electronics like cameras or phones. A small cooler could also fit if desired. The best part… the Kayak does not need to be drilled, cut or modified at all! I also show off another milk crate I use for gear storage, bait bucket and rod holders.
