January 17th, 2015 we hit the Toccoa River in Blue Ridge GA for some paddling and kayak fishing. There were 4 in our group. We left a truck down river at Curtis Switch, and launched our kayaks at Blue Ridge Dam. It was chilly (high 30’s to mid 40’s) and windy. 4 fish in 6 hours. At some areas on the river, the wind blew up river. Which meant we had to paddle against the wind in areas that we could normally float effortlessly. Don’t get me wrong, It was a great trip… but we had to work for it. There are big trout in the Toccoa. No doubt. Just pack a lunch and a gold spoon. It’s an all day event.
